Worktime works by looking for presence of a Wi-Fi network at your workplace and it uses the same scanning that Android uses for detecting Wi-Fi networks which means no additional battery consumption. There is no need to be connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Design philosophy
Simplicity is the core value when designing this app. There are no tricky parameters to configure in order to set up the app and you don't have to start or stop it and - it works as soon as you have told it which network to look for and it will stay out of your way until you open the app again.
